Product Description

Peruvian coffees have been best known in the past for being blenders and have not been superstars of the coffee universe.

THIS high grown Peru coffee from Cooperativa Agraria Cefetalera Cochepampa Ltda. however has the best characteristics of being well balanced, mello, sweet, and cocoa-like in a well processed coffee. Fair Trade, and Organic.

The coop was founded in 1990 while needing to bring better prices than were currently available by traders. Current certifications among members include OCIA, JAS, Utz-Kapeh, FLO, Cafe Practices and Rainforest Alliance

The region supports a variety of animals and birds: Sihuayro, paca, deer capizo, foxes and marsupals. Parrots, pusti, azulejos, coranados, etc. Plus 30 species of butterflies.

Overall the coop has achieved it's goals, Fair prices, better quality, qualified workers and staff, farming equipment, raised public awareness of organic, and sustainable production.

A surprisingly smooth, full bodied coffee with just the right caramely sweetness and buttery fruitiness. A full city roast brought out the flavors just right. (Posted on 1/8/11)
